If your home has mostly carpet and pets that loses a lot of hair all over the house, you should give this Shark Rotator Professional Lift Away NV501a try since it is powerful and gets deep into the carpet with a budget under $300.
I went with the Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away, and I have been thrilled with the results! I couldn’t believe the dirt it pulled out of my new carpet rugs, and how much it consistently pulls out every time I vacuum. I love the ease of use and versatility. I vacuum backward to pull the vacuum toward me instead of push whenever I have a problem.
What to Expect from The Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away NV501
The Shark Rotator Lift-Away Pro is Shark’s latest vacuum cleaner and in our tests the best one from shark to date. The lift-away function works wonderfully. The machine is quite easy to carry in lift-away mode, and the many attachments work quite well.
In addition, the lift-away caddy is another great new feature, allowing the machine to be pulled behind you as you clean. The attachments on this model are also quite robust, comprising of a: wand, crevice tool, dusting brush, turbo brush, and a bare floor tool. These all are easy to use and have a storage place, either on the machine or on the caddy.
The cleaning power on the floor is also improved over previous models, with a new extra-large floor head compared to previous models. This new floor head has the signature strong shark brushroll, and a new feature to the Shark brand, Headlights!
This floorhead is also quite large and features the swivel steering controls like previous lift-away vacuums. The swivel steering makes it easy to move around and keep control of the vacuum while allowing you to still get into tight places. The strong suction provided by the motor unit also allows the vacuum to keep up with the brushrolls ability to dislodge dirt from the carpet fibers.
This new floor head also seals to the floor like the Dyson DC41, which allows for very strong pickup performance on carpet. Like older shark brushrolls this machine still has overload protection, and the brushroll will stop when jammed before damage is caused to the floor, the machine or the item caught in the brush.
Straight suction nozzle worked well. The floor nozzle did a decent job as well as picked up pet hair. If you have a house full of carpet, you may have to empty the canister more often. The vacuum has a lot of suction power and seems to get deep into the carpet to get all the dirt so that also contributes to more dirt in the canister.
Overall, I think this Shark Rotator is great for carpet. With the attachments, it’s good on hardwood floors. Don’t expect it to be lightweight and glide across hardwood floors like stick vacuums.

What Consumers say about Shark Rotator Lift-Away Pro NV501
This is the best vacuum that I have ever used. This thing has my carpet looking brand new and that’s usually hard for me to accomplish with three dogs in the house. It’s have suction as Dyson.
This vacuum has everything you want and more! Multiple attachments enable you to vacuum most all surfaces in your home. Excellent getting rid of cat hair on couch and carpet. This bagless easy to handle vacuum cleaner picks up pet hairand tracked in dirt from both carpets and tiles and it is light and stores away easily.
Been a Dyson fan I bought a Dyson Multi floor 2 and kept it a day and returned it because it there was no way to regulate the suction like the Shark. This vacuum is much easier to use because the rear wheel stay on the floor so it can be rolled around, unlike the Dyson. The biggest advantage is the adjustable suction so it can be used on area rugs and thick pile without coming to a stop because it was too strong suction.
Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away NV501 is incredibly quiet for the amount of suction it produces. Cleaning on furniture is perfect for circling around furniture while cleaning my chair, sofa, and cushions. The Wide Upholstery Tool works well and does a great job of managing the vacuum suction when setting max.
On Floor Cleaning, It ensures the brush roller remains perfectly flat over the carpet and bare floors when pushing it around. It’s not required, but I normally empty the dust collector multiple times when vacuuming as the suction is really good on this unit. This vacuum would be great for people who live in medium to large homes that have a mix of carpet and hard floors.
