I replaced the carpet on my stairs six months ago, spending approximately $1200. This is a high quality carpet in a very unique solid blue-green color. I recently splattered a bleach-based cleaning product (Tilex) on the carpet (loose bottle cap?). This left about 35 small spots about the size of a pencil eraser. The blue-green color was bleached to white-yellow. The stains were very noticeable. Even though the carpet was virtually new, I could not live with these stains.

The only solution seemed to be replacing the carpet. I wondered about having the spots dyed, even using a colored marker. However, the carpet color would be impossible for me to match. As a last resort, I did a search on the web. I found a number or options, but ecarpetstains seemed unique since they provided custom-dyed color matching. I was a bit skeptical, but the worst possible outcome would be wasting $103. I sent a carpet sample and pictures to ecarpetstains. Within a few days, Dave gave me a call to confirm the color of the spots. He asked me several questions and walked me through the procedure for preparing and dying the bleach stains.

Within a few days I received the kit and followed the procedure. The dye was a perfect color match. Dave anticipated that the yellow-tinged spots may need a slightly bluer tint to cover the yellow (he provided me some separate blue dye to adjust the green dye). this was true. I followed the directions and all stains were covered perfectly. The carpet looks like new.

I have tried to highlight the small spots with green markers. The ones taken from a little farther away have a little reddish cast. The carpet is a little over a month old. The stains are a couple of weeks old. As soon as I saw the big one, whoich was a couple of days after it happened, I used diluted white vinegar to neutralize any remaining solution. They said it kept getting bigger over the couple of days before I first saw it, so I assume what was happening was as they wiped it up, they were just spreading the stain. Sorry to be so long in getting to you re the outcome of the rug dying. You were so helpful, and it turned out very well.

The next time I do it, however, I will just get enough of the dye from your to make an actual bath which will cover the rug. Because the rug has such dense pile, even the heavy spraying of it resulted in only about the top two thirds of the pile getting dyed. It still has light "roots". That is OK however, because it is so dense, that you never see down to where it is not dyed, unless you get down and physically part the pile to see it.

The color came out perfect, as you can see in the photos.

I'm attaching several before/after photos of our Clorox drop damage and the subsequent repair with your carpet stain removal kit. The after shot is totally unremarkable as the bleached out spots have disappeared.

As you may recall, I called you to discuss my plight. Our 15 month old, 90 oz. plush carpet was the victim of a leaky Clorox bottle being carried from the kitchen, through the living room and bedroom en route to the laundry room. The next day, my mess was really apparent.

Despite the cost I was thinking about totally replacing what I damaged. That would have been just over 100 yd's. of new carpet, plus labor of removal and installation. The bleached-out areas really stood out and I hated the mess I's made. At least I wouldn't have had to replace the pad too! That was a very small consolation.

I did end up doing four separate dying procedures to get it perfect. Thanks for your help. I have stopped by my carpet store giving them your e-mail and phone numbers.

My wife and I found a stain on our carpet that we believe was caused by facial medicine. We went to our carpet dealer that had provided our carpet to see how we could possibly fix the stained area. He said that our options were:
1. To cut out a small area from the closet and replace the stained area
2. To replace the entire hallway, or
3. To live with it the way it was

I had asked him if he or the manufacturer had any dye that we might be able to purchase to fix the problem. Clearly, we were hoping to pursue the least intrusive fix first. His response was that he nor the manufacturer would have any carpet dye to fix the problem.

Therefore, we looked into possible fixes through the internet and came upon your website. This looked like the route to go for us. I gave you a call and told you the size (about the size of a quarter) and possible cause of the stain. Your response was immediate as to what facial medicine contains and how it will bleach carpet. So, we took some facial medicine and placed it on some scrape carpet to see if it would cause a similiar stain. It did. Therefore, we sent you a carpet sample to show you the stain and the color of our carpet.

You responded quickly with a carpet dying kit and directions. Even though I was careful to read the directions several times, I chose to bleach another scrap of carpet to see if I could fix it. It appeared to work on the scrap and therefore I went to fix the spot on our floor.

The spot that once existed is no longer visible and almost matches perfectly. This spot was in an area that was visible to everyone that came into our house. Many people would ask, "What happened here?" Now, it is not even noticable. My wife and I are the only ones that are able to see where it was and we now even have to look to find it.

The carpet stain is working very well.

The mix you had me start with ended up being somewhat lighter than the rest of the carpet, but it was the same tone. I reduced the white glaze of each spot. After it dried on the first coat, I darkened the mix and have been going back, carefully, blending in the "dots" across my carpet. The "dots" have started to disappear, one by one.

It's a good product. Thank you.

When I get done, I will re-write your instruction sheet. You are welcome to use my suggestions. I do a lot of writing in my business.

It worked pretty well overall. The color is correct. I got the first spots a little dark I rinsed the spots out aggressively with a lot of water and some chemicals. Overall it looks a lot better than it did before, you'd have to know which shadows were mistakes to notice,thanks.

Dave, I just wanted to say "THANK YOU" for your wonderful product. I had a light beige carpet with about 25 bleach stains that had dripped from a bleach type cleaning product's spray bottle. Most of the stains were small but some had gotten a little larger when I tried to clean them up. The product he sent worked PERFECTLY on the small spots and on the slightly larger spots that I had. I just followed the directions and did a little at a time. Dave really emphasizes to use a small amount of color to begin with that a little goes a long way. Dave, Thank your very much for your help in solving our carpet problem. When we moved into this house less than a year ago, we re-carpeted the entire house. Without realizing the need to be careful with Tilex bathroom mildew and stain remover , I dripped across a carpeted area between the shower and the counter. In fact I did this in two bathrooms resulting in several small white spots on our new tan colored carpet. You sent me the color needed to color match the carpet spots, You did indicate that the first application may have a red hue to it. I had just put down a new carpet in my living room when my two year old son got a hold of a spray bleach cleaner. He sprayed the dark green new carpet in two spots leaving numerous bleach stains on the carpet. The stains ranged from smalls drops to nickel sized stains. I searched the internet and found the ECarpetStains.com web site. I emailed my problem and Dave called me back within a couple of hours stating he would send a kit out to me right away. I received the kit within a couple of days. The kit I received had excellent instructions and worked well. The spots were all gone. Dave actually called the next day to see how everything turned out. I have had numerous coin sized bleach spots on my light almond colored carpet and one large hand-sized spot from a cleaner that I tried to use on a stain for over a year. I had searched in stores and was unable to find a solution to my problem. After looking at several sites on the web and doing a follow up Better Business Bureau check on different vendors, I decided to try this site. I was still a bit cautious and decided before sending in the request, that I should call and speak with someone to see if the service would be helpful in the event I had difficulties using the kit. When I called the number, I was surprised that I spoke directly with Dave who is listed on the site. He was very helpful and instructed me to send a few fibers of the rug for his reference and that once he received them, it would be a few days before he would send the kit - so that I would receive it within the week. I was happy to hear about the quick turn around and custom dye service provided for the kit. I had thought that it would be a standard color kit and I would have to mix and match colors to get the exact color. When I received the kit, I immediately tried the color on about 10 spots. After an hour, I looked at the spots and they seemed a bit too brown and slightly orange. I thought I had only made the carpet look worse. I immediately called Dave and he asked for several details about the color and what happened to the carpet fibers - whether they took the color, etc. Then said he would send out another color in the mail in a few days. I recieved the new color in the mail a few days later and applied the color to all of the spots with fabulous results! Just as I finished the application, Dave called me to follow up and give me instructions on how to use the new color to correct the original color and I shared with him my excitement. I have enough dye left from the kit to correct more future spots. I am very happy with the rug correction and especially with the service. Dave did not require more payment for the color correction and he was extremely helpful and called to follow up each time to make sure that my questions and concerns with the use were answered. His customer service is exceptional. For an internet business, this is the best service for a product that I have purchased online.

In the elegant home of one of my cleaning business customers I was using a product that contained bleach. I don't know how, perhaps the top was not fastened tightly, but drops of the product fell on the expensive carpeting. I was not only embarrassed to have ruined the carpet, I was responsible to fix it. When I called carpet specialists I was told the only solution would be to have them cut out the bleached spots and insert plugs cut from left over carpet. It was going to cost a couple hundred dollars!

I got on the Internet and did a Google search on "carpet stains." That's how I found you! I learned you specialize in exactly this problem! When I telephoned I was impressed at how thorough you were in determining the exact nature of the problem before declaring that you could help me. I applied the dye and it came out very good - not perfect, it was a little dark so I must have mixed it a little strong, but I'm very pleased with the color match.

I noticed when I was massaging the dye in that there was some suds, so obviously the carpet cleaner didn't get all the other stuff out. I was wondering, I wanted to try to improve it, can I wet the carpet with warm water directly and (after I buy a real wet-vac like a shop vac) suck out more stuff - soap and dye - and try again with dilute dye?

In July, my family moved into a brand new home. By August, I had ruined our living room carpet by somehow dripping bleach from one end of the room to the next. I was so upset and figured that I would have to pay someone hundreds of dollars to repair all of the stains.

Hello Dave,
I have good news the spots on the white carpet were dyed to a close-to-white. I got the spot to a very light yellow underneath and a creamy white on top which was close enough because I haven't heard anything about the spots being a problem. I would give my whitening job a B+, because I did not want to use too much of the bluish dye and so I probably used just a tad too little. I got the spots to a light yellow in 2 sessions and hit them with the whitener 3 times after toning with just a little of the blue dye. It definitely helped get the bright yellow toned to a whiter faint yellow. The whitener brought it closer to white especially the top fibers, but it was still a faint, faint yellow when you part the carpet through the stain. If you really scrutinized the carpet, you could see some slight yellow off color spots, but the
dyes worked and mostly blended the spots in fairly well with the rest of the white carpet.

I think that the spots were dyed very close to the color of the original carpet when I finished. This is very lucky for me because it would cost me many times the price of the kit to replace the carpet, so I thank you and would definitely recommend your dye kits to others with stain problems that are repairable. The location of the spots was extremely lucky also because really don't get that much light so they don't jump out at you when you look at the carpet.

Overall, I am happy with the product that you gave me, and feel that it worked. I really appreciate the support you provided with your telephone contact, carpet stain expertise, concern, and your video. I think you've got a great service for people with carpet stains. It just took me about (and I am not kidding you), about 8-10 hours over about 6 sessions of gentle dying, drying, testing, checking, etc. to
get this carpet looking close to white so I am still recovering from that.

I have learned a lot about carpeting and I couldn't have repaired these stains without your help. You care about your business, you know what you are doing, your product works, your service is excellent, and I really appreciate your help.

I used your kit and the results were perfect. It is impossible to tell where the original spots were. I have attached before and after photographs. I did use a your kit on a piece of left over carpet prior to using it on the actual original spots. I was able to produce similar spots using a swimming pool oxidizer. The actual carpet came out even better than the test

Hi actually I did get a chance and it worked pretty.  I did get parts to be a little to dark, but its hardly noticeable. it almost looks like the carpets' just slanting opposite the surrounding carpet, resulting in slightly darker patches of carpet. all in all, it looks great.

I just had to tell you how elated I am that my carpet looks like new again . My daughter had tried to get out red ink marks (A pen exploded) with a solution of detergent and Clorox and bleached the carpet in two different rooms. The living room and dining room. I thought for sure we were going to have to buy new wall to wall and this carpeting is only two years old. my daughter called a local man who advertised that he colored carpets but he didn't think it would work and was going to charge me $200.00 to do something he wasn't sure of.  I decided to get on the web and look to see what I could find and thank god I found your company.  Not only did you call me when you got my order to be sure what the color of the spots were but you reassured me that it would indeed work.  We cleaned the carpet with a steam machine, because it needed it, and to get the rest of the detergent and Clorox out.  When my daughter put the dye on and we saw how fast it worked we were amazed.  We couldn't believe it worked so fast and looked so good.  I have been telling everyone about you company and the service you provide.  We have enough color left to last the life of the carpet.  I did take pictures, that have to be developed.  I hope they come out so everyone can see how bad it was and how good it looks.  No one can tell that there was ever a problem with the carpet.  My daughter-in-law didn't think it would ever work and she saw it tonight and couldn't even remember where the spots were.

Thank for your help.  Your product was great.  Our carpet was expensive and almost new when we discovered several small bleached spots in an area that we just couldn't cover with furniture or runners.  Apparently the cleaning lady had unknowingly set a spray bottle containing chlorine bleach on the carpet.  The spots were yellowish and very noticeable,  We called several local carpet companies, and that either didn't show up after making an appointment, or they didn't appear to know what they were doing.  One was even talking about cutting out and "seaming in" a 3 inch patch.  Anyway, out of desperation, I did a web search looking for "carpet dye".  I found your site, followed the instructions, and sent in a scrap of my dark teal carpet.  You sent me a small kit and video, and I immediately used it this evening with the idea of "touching" up the area the next day.  The next morning I was not able to touch up the area because I couldn't find it... the spots were completely gone, and as soon as the area dried, it was impossible to tell that they had ever been there. I was really only expecting the spots to look better, not disappears completely, but the treatment exceeded my expectations.

I think I'm getting the hang of dyeing process.  I like my results so far.  Mildly bleaching the darker spots where I used too much blue helped my "start over: and it looks fairly decent.  I'm now in a nit-picky kind of stage where some areas are a slightly a bit too reddish/orange.  I'm compensating by adding the tiniest bit of blue to my current brown solution, and dyeing a little at a time.  I think it will work.  Thanks again for all of your guidance and support with your product.  Once you get it, it works very, very well.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to your messages. I am very pleased with you and what you have to offer. I think I am home free in getting back all my security deposit now! I was a bit concerned about dark spots showing up (I did keep dye low in water like your video said). It seems to be darker though when wet. There is traces of darkness still, but not as evident as when wet. Anything is better than the ugly orange spots. Amazingly enough the largest spot cleaned up the best with a spray bottle method.
